Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. After final selection, candidates with dual citizenships will have to admit nationalities other than Pakistani.

Academic Prerequisites
Marks – FA/ FSc/ Equivalent: ► Minimum 55% marks in FA/FSC and equivalent. ► Candidates who secure 60% or more marks in FA/FSC with 50% marks in BA/BSc/BA/BSc (Hons) and BBA/BPA are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course . |

Verification of Marks Sheet/ Certificate: Candidates who have not issued certificates or who do not have copies of Matric/Intermediate/BA/B.Sc./Revised Mark Sheets/Certificates should contact the Secretary of the Board/University concerned. /Controller must obtain a signed verification certificate of examination. |
‘A’ level candidates with aggregate 60% marks applying in Pakistan are eligible without seeking equivalent certificate as calculated by IBCC. However, all candidates who have passed ‘A’ level and equivalent examination from abroad or passed from Pakistan with result less than three Cs, will be required to obtain equivalent certificate issued by Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBCC). Submission is required. |

Declared permanently UNFIT by Appellate Medical Board (PUF by AMB). Disqualified by any Armed Forces hospital except those cleared by the Appellate Medical Board. However, Pakistan Air Force candidates who are medically unfit to fly but fit for ground branches may undergo routine medical examination like normal candidates if they wish to join other arms. |

Candidates declared with positive drug test will be considered permanent UNFIT for joining PMA/Training Institutes at CMHs/Military Hospitals/AFIP. |
NOTE.
The ISSB selection system accesses the natural officer capacity. Coaching of ISSB tests adversely affects selection opportunities and results in many discrepancies in personality traits. If it is found that the candidate trained in any private coaching center will be considered ineligible to apply for any type of commission.
Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure

Candidates can register either through internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs). The following procedure will be followed:- |
Registration through Internet: Candidate can register on the website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. The date and time of the test will be notified on the internet for which the individual must have an email account. Candidates will report on the computerized roll number slip for the preliminary test on the exact date and time given. A date once given will not be changed. Candidates must have working knowledge of computer as registration and test will be conducted on computer. |
The written/intelligence test will be based on multiple choice questions in English, Mathematics, Culinary Studies, Islamic Studies and General Knowledge. Candidates declared successful in written/intelligence test will have to undergo physical/medical test and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCS). |
Note: ► TCC candidates who apply for PMA Long Course and have passed ISSB irrespective of results will also be considered as repeat candidates. ► Repeat candidates should report to the respective Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) from 20-30 November 2023 for preliminary test. |
Preliminary Selection: Selection will be made on module basis for Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB), for which a module is being developed in Directorate of Personnel Administration. The preliminary test with weightage assigned to the module will include the following:- |

► Preliminary Selection Board Interview conducted by Selection and Recruitment Officer (S&RO). |
Written/Intelligence Test: The written/intelligence test will be based on multiple choice questions in English, Mathematics, Culinary Studies, Islamic Studies and General Knowledge. Candidates declared successful in written/intelligence test will have to undergo physical/medical test and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs). |
Physical Test: The following criteria are prescribed for all candidates:- |
► 1.6 Km Run – 8 minutes |
Push-ups – 15 repetitions in 2 minutes |
► Crunches – 20 repetitions in 2 minutes |
► Pull-ups – 3 repetitions in 2 minutes |
► Ditch Crossing – 7.4” x 7.4” and 4′ deep |
Clearing all the events as per the above table is mandatory for every candidate. A candidate failing any 1 x event will be treated as a failure in the Physical Test (PT) and will not be issued an Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form. |
Interview: Candidates who clear written, medical and physical tests will be interviewed by S&ROs (instead of Brig by formation) and psychologists at the end. Before the interview, each candidate has to write an essay of 10 lines in English and Urdu. Candidates will be issued simple paper before English and Urdu essay interview. The topic of the day will be displayed on the board in the examination hall/room. S&RO will write pointers for each candidate appearing for the interview. Each candidate will be given marks out of 20. A candidate securing less than 12 marks will be considered as failed and will not be given Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form. The following instructions are given for conducting the interview:- |
► Expression and confidence in English and Urdu. |
► Plenty of information about current affairs. |
► Ample information about bio and culinary studies. |
► Holistic approach. |
► Extracurricular activities include sports and hobbies. |
► Any other aspect considered appropriate by the panel. |
► Recording of interview of each candidate through CCTV to be ensured by all AS&RCs and shared on CD with PA Dte on weekly basis. |

Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) will fill all required entries (physical test and interview marks) in the module. Further nomination of candidates for Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) will be done through Directorate of Personnel Administration merit. Candidates recommended by the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) will undergo a detailed medical examination at the nearest Combined Military Hospitals. Final selection based on candidate’s performance will be done at General Headquarters. |

► Detailed Marks Sheet of Original Certificate/Matric/FA/FSC/Equivalent. |
► Computerized National Identity Card for 18 years and above or Guardian’s Computerized National Identity Card with Computerized Form “B” for below 18 years (father or mother). |
► One set of attested photocopies of the above documents. |
► 3x passport size color photographs duly attested by Principal/Class-1 Gazetted Officer (Front & Back). |
► Original as well as a photocopy of “NOT Recommended” letter from Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) is also required for “Repeat Candidates”. |
Note: Old National Identity Card will not be accepted. |

Eligible candidates residing abroad are exempted from preliminary selection. However, defense attachés will ascertain their overall suitability, physical impairment and staggered aspects. Candidates are advised to approach Pakistani Embassies (Military/Defence Attaché) in the country for issuance of application form. They will submit their application forms with attached documents through Pakistani Embassies by 26 January 2024. The application form should also indicate the postal address in Pakistan for Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) test/interviews call-up notices and further correspondence with eligible candidates. Candidates can be registered at the given Pakistani address. No travel allowance will be admissible to and from Pakistan. |
Note: If the selected candidates for the current intake are more than the required intake, the remaining candidates will be admitted to the next Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions/merit. |
