1. ADMISSION THROUGH NUMS ENTRY TEST (NUMS CADETS OR NC)

NUMS conducts entry test in all major cities of Pakistan. However, the result is sent to the candidate either through email or through national press. The test is conducted twice a year by the National Testing Service (NTS). The first examination is conducted in August based on the candidate’s first year results.

The second test is held in September based on the results of the second year. Further, a candidate can appear for both the tests. Also, they can choose the result with the best score from the tests to apply.

  • Fill the NUMS form carefully and select an exam center from the following options: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, Peshawar, Bhawalpur, Karachi, Dera Ismail Khan, and Gwadar.

  • A challan of PKR 3,000 will be generated in your name, download and print it along with your application form.
  • Pay the challan at the nearest HBL Bank. Get original challan for yourself and stamp NUMS.
  • Post the printed application form and original paid challan form (NUMS copy) to “National Testing Service (NUMS Project) Plot 96, Street No. 4, Sector H-8/1, Islamabad”.

Candidate should read the following instructions before registration:

  • Apply for the test as soon as possible so that you can post the challan, application form, and required documents to NTS on time.
  • NTS will not accept responsibility for late receipt of application.

TAKE THE TEST

On the day of the examination, the candidate should reach the examination venue one hour before the commencement of the test to avoid any possibility of delay.

3. THE RESULT

On the next working day, NUMS uploads the test answers on its website (www.numspk.edu.pk) for self-evaluation.

The test result will be displayed on their website or via email within a week. Keep in mind that the weightage formula for admission is 50% of F. Sc. and 50% of the NUMS test. A candidate with 70% marks in NUMS entry test is eligible to apply for admission.

4. THE ADMISSION FORM

Candidate has to purchase their prospectus and obtain admission form from Army Medical College, Rawalpindi (Fee: Rs. 3000/-).

2. AMC ADMISSION THROUGH MEDICAL CADET COURSE

Selection procedure for Medical Cadet Course is almost same as PMA. Compared to PMA, preliminary tests are divided into four phases. In summary, the stages are three tests and an interview.

  • Intelligence and written test
  • Physical test
  • Preliminary medical test

Once the candidate clears the written test, he/she will proceed for the physical test. After completing the physical examination, they soon proceed to the medical tests. Shortlisted candidates will receive call letter for interview under GHQ Selection Commission. Selection procedure and criteria for BDS are some different forms of MBBS.

If the Army successfully selects the candidate, the GHQ will issue a call letter for the candidate. It will be delivered to the address of the candidate mentioned in the application form.

During 5 years of MBBS and 4 years of BDS, GHQ will pay 30000 PKR per month. Additionally, the candidate will have to wear the official khaki uniform, and will also be called a cadet.

Each cadet will complete six months of training at Kakul Academy PMA after completion of MBBS and BDS. When a candidate completes the training course, he will be given the rank of “Captain”. According to the Army Bond, every candidate has to serve at least 13 years in the Army Medical Crops.

Women are no longer allowed to apply as medical cadets. In 2012, the Army stopped the admission of girls as lady cadets for MBBS and BDS through the Medical Cadet Course.

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for MC:

  • Candidate should have 60% score in FSC. (Pre-Medical) or HSSC.
  • A candidate is allowed to try out for the army only three times.
  • No candidate will be given second chance if permanently disqualified for Army Medical Examination.

1. REGISTRATION

Firstly, male applicants for medical cadets should visit Pakistan Army Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) in their cities. They can also visit their website https://www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk/ Note: Application for Medical Cadets usually opens from June to July. Candidates can submit the form through their website. 4. APPEAR FOR THE INTERVIEW

5. THE MERIT LIST

Paying cadet seats are reserved for Army cadets only. Civilians are not allowed to apply as paying cadets. Although, these seats are available for both boys and girls. Paying cadets will pay their full fees, but half the charges will be refunded.
